Places to go in Dayton, Ohio
I often get asked about restaurants or places to go in Dayton so though I would put some of my recommendations and personal favorites together for you.
The Pine Club - bills itself as "Dayton's favorite steakhouse" and has been named by the New York Times as one of the World’s Ten Greatest Traditional Dining Institutions.
The Bonefish Grill is another restaurant that I enjoy and is also located in the Dayton Mall.
The Oregon District - Oregon is Dayton's oldest neighborhood, dating back to the 19th century, and its creative inhabitants are passionate about preserving the entrepreneurial spirit of their district. Nearly all of the businesses are locally owned and operated.
Here are two reviews from TripAdvisor that sum up, the Oregon District:
This is where to go if you want a night out in Dayton. Though small, it offers lots of bars, restaurants and brewing companies. Parking can sometimes be scarce, so if you live out of town, park next to Omega Records. We used to live two streets over and would walk there every weekend.
The Oregon district is a unique downtown area with a nostalgic and vintage flair. It has shops, restaurants and bars and pubs. Many have bands. In the summer it has open area setting outside. It is a city street bordered by a unique neighborhood of Victorian homes, apartments and townhouses. The streets are brick with a glimpse of yesterday year architecture. During the winter holiday season the homes are open for a Christmas open house. The area has a traditional street party atmosphere at Halloween. It is a great destination to walk to a variety of different types of restaurants and bars.
